BlockchainNZ has reviewed the IRD’s recent “GST policy issues – an officials’ issues paper” recently released with a call for submissions. We commend the IRD on a very thorough report. It covers many of the key issues required for consideration and we wished to applaud the IRD for taking cryptocurrency seriously and understanding that these issues impact an important and high growth sector of our economy.
In the attached submission we only review Chapter 3, the cryptocurrency section. We wish to express our interest in participating further in any follow up work relating to cryptocurrency or any other blockchain or distributed ledger related work that the IRD may undertake.
